Offers for Bad Credit

The problem with bad credit is that once you’ve got it, it’s hard to get the money that you’d need to get out of such a rating. If you think it’s hard to get credit cards - bad credit lenders are just waiting to give you some money to get out of your current situation. Do not worry too hard, millions of Americans are in the same situation as you, and with a little effort and some help from these lenders you’ll no longer have to worry about paying the bills or borrowing the money necessary to kick start your own business.

Let’s wipe the holocaust off the face of the map

You remember when there was a big hullabaloo over Ahmadinejad making some stupid statement calling for the Israeli regime to be ‘wiped off the map’. Well, you notice that deep silence? That’s the collective sound of a hundred western news agencies reporting on an Israeli minister threatening to unleash the horrors of the Holocaust on Palestine. Frankly, I think the whole place is FUBAR, and couldn’t care less, and after a while even the bodies of children fail to affect a human being, but one thing that does get the blood boiling is the Western media’s double standards. Strange, no, how they didn’t make a fuss about this comment, something that would have raised hell if an Arab had said it. Fair and balanced. Ha ha ha.

Personal Injury Compensation

With the way the world is set up right now, most corporations can get away without providing health insurance or even compensation in the case of injury because there are people who will accept the same job without those essential benefits. In situations where you are suffering from Personal Injury, you’ll need a lawyer, someone who knows what they’re talking about. It’s also important to choose a good lawyer because if you’re already suffering from injury, it’s likely that your medical bills are already high, and so the lawyer’s fees can make it impossible for the compensation to be worth anything. So a lawyer who’s willing to take your situation into account is quite valuable, and contrary to popular opinion, there are many who are willing to do that.

There are good companies, however, and they will pay out the compensation when the accident happens on duty. For instance, a relative of mine worked with the Integral Coach Factory and his leg was injured while he was trying to free a locked machine. Not only was treatment free at the local hospital, but he was also given paid leave and compensation for the accident. In another incident, somebody a friend of mine knew was sent abroad to Dubai to work as a cook with a popular local restaurant’s franchise there. He was involved in an accident where he got hit by a vehicle while crossing the road. While the franchise tried to palm him off, the original restaurant owner actually found the man and flew him back here for treatment, all on paid leave. Not all companies are so kind, though, and some will try to weasel out of their obligations, and this is when you must threaten to sue or you will never get any compensation.

Working for a living

Well, it’s finally happened. I have a job, and its got deadlines and they’re really close and I have to work a lot harder than I’ve ever been used to (except for that short period in November). If things keep going at this rate, I may have a permanent job (this is temporary) and can actually pay for an apartment instead of having to live off the family. Jesus, one would think I’d have enough money by this time, but life isn’t that easy. A decent apartment costs somewhere in the Rs. 3k-5k range and I don’t think I could get that much money and handle college fees each month, it’s simply not possible unless I have a mostly part time job. Sigh, real life has begun, and it’s fun, but it brings stress, tension, and an extra commute.

I sat opposite a Christmas tree store, and there was this poor hobo and he was smoking a joint without a care right there on the street. I don’t know if its really cool that we have such freedom in this country that we can do stuff like that, or if it’s really sad that the poor hobo is spending his cash on his weed. Tchah!

Romance For Everyone

There are some years when Valentine’s Day passes you by and you had no one to spend it with. Even worse, you actually do have somebody to spend it with but you’ve lost the buzz that kept you going back when you were still early in the relationship. Sometimes, it’s time to realise that you can’t do everything right and that you need a little help now and then, someone to give you a few romantic ideas that you would never have thought up simply because it’s hard to think when life’s like that - write love letters, no one does that any more, it shows you care, just think up a simple “I miss you“; think up a poem; do something exciting that neither of you has done before.

Some of these ideas can be silly, and some can be downright brilliant but the important thing is that you have to use your brains and see which ones you can actually apply to your particular case. For example, if your girlfriend’s thinking that you’re out to kill her, then white-water rafting in one of those special made-for-two kayaks may not be a smart idea, and you may well manage to fix things up with another of the suggestions. Good luck.

Nader joining the presidential race

Sure he’s the nicest guy on the cards, and he’s the only fellow who actually has put his money where his mouth is by actually working actively on the things he claims to care about, but he’s the guy who screwed up Al Gore’s chances back in Florida in 2000. Really, the only thing he’s going to do is pull more votes from the Democratic Party. What I don’t understand about America is how people choose to vote like cattle along party lines like it were some kind of a tribal warfare game that they were playing out. The result of that is that other people have to choose to strategically vote because in gambling on the best candidate they can accidentally end up with the worst candidate because the second best candidate lost his votes to the best.

Frankly, a simple solution to this would be using the Australian system of electing people to government. That way you can choose the order of preference and you can get away with voting for your favourite while still mentioning that if that person can’t win you’d rather that a certain other person win.

Urogynecology

Dr. Miklos and Dr. Moore specialise in minimally invasive bladder laparascopic surgery and have personally operated on patients from 46 states in 25 countries. Urogynecology is the branch of medicine that deals with the genitals and the bladder, and these two specialists are highly rated by their peers in the field (in both the USA and abroad) for the skill with which they complete their surgeries. In addition, the fact that they use lasers to perform the surgery (that’s what laparascopic surgery is) means that the operations don’t have large noticeable scars and that there is less risk of infection at the place where they’ve done the surgery.

If you’re looking to have some laparscopic surgery done, then it’s probably worth looking at some of the best in the field before you decide who you should get it from. Good luck.

Vote Obama

For a while now I’ve been leaning towards thinking that Obama would be a good candidate for the US President. George has listed his positions on important stuff, and reading that it doesn’t sound like he’s too bad. Palestine/Israel is one screwed up place, so it’s really not worth talking much about and I couldn’t care less what happens there so long as people stop dying. Frankly, the reason I would think Obama is a good idea is because he doesn’t seem keen on continuing the War in Iraq, which he voted against in the first place. The convoluted explanation as to why this is good is that I think that without that money sink that is Iraq, the US will be able to bounce back from the crap it’s been calling an economy these days.

The reason why that is good is that I make my money in US Dollars, and the better their economy the higher the exchange rate. With the rupee appreciating a few paise every day, I’m getting less and less spendable money out of each dollar, and that’s really troubling me. The Republicans are a bunch of idiots, they just kill the economy with their bullshit methods of taxing the rich less than the poor and sending people off to war and crap like that. It’s like they hate their country.

PragmaSys Telnet and SSH solutions

When companies look for Secure Shell providers, they’re usually looking for providers with a proven track record of security and stability, and that’s where companies like Pragmasys shine. They provide Telnet, SSH, and SCP solutions that you can trust with the most sensitive of your data. Considering they’ve been in the business for around 16 years now, and work with the biggest of companies - IBM, HP, Intel, their client list reads like the Fortune 500.

And if your company has been looking around for handheld clients that they can distribute to their employees so that they can access resources while on the road, then you can get PragmaSys’ 2-in-1 Telnet and SSH client that works on Windows Mobile, Windows CE and on the Pocket PC.

PayPerPost rapidly drying up

I’m having trouble getting any good offers from PayPerPost these days. Most of them are in the range of $5 for 200 words with 3-4 links out which is simply outrageous. I don’t accept such offers because it encourages advertisers to offer low sums of money for good inbound links. For a PageRank 3 blog, $5 as an offer is pretty pathetic, I don’t remember it being so bad even a month ago. This is also troubling news because it may mean that I have to go back to counting on Adsense advertisements for income, and those are rather fickle, I haven’t received anything worth talking about in the last 4 months from another 100 visitors/day site. Perhaps I have to start talking about stuff that has good ads.

In any case, the reason that’s such a small amount for a PR3 blog is that there is a real tangible risk to linking out to these people. If there are too many links out it may seem spammy and we’ve known Google to have gone and bumped PR on blogs who posted a lot of advertisements. While Z got away with hiding his advertisements, George was killed in a PR3 surgical strike that brought the PageRank of that subdomain to a useless 0, and that’s for a fellow who has hundreds of listed entries on Google.

Cosmetic Surgery News

Following the news for cosmetic surgery these days, I noticed one particular article that spoke of how around half of all Britons would go in for cosmetic surgery. Sure not all of them are looking for Breast Augmentation, the cosmetic surgery perceived to be as most common, but surely this means that a lot more people are interested in how they look and are willing to go under the scalpel to remain younger-looking for longer. 44% is no small fraction, particularly if you consider just how Britain’s population is distributed about the ages. What this probably means is that people are turning to cosmetic surgery younger and younger and that’s a very interesting trend if you work in that field. Looking through the news on that page may aid you a bit in the search of a place to emigrate to and practise cosmetic surgery.

Believe what you want

George was talking about how research has proved that people will see what they believe in and the first thought that struck me was: Does this explain all those incidents where people see gods/devils or Mother Mary or Jesus or something? Maybe that’s why it happens only to people who are extremely devout, they believe so hard in these things that they actually see little clouds of smoke as the Son of God. I can see that happening, especially since I’ve actually seen people fall into convulsions saying that they feel ’some heavenly force’ and screaming and stuff like that.

A potent chemical, religion, and one hell of a weapon it has on its side, fear and cruelty. Ouch.

Mortgage News

I’ve been keeping track of mortgage news ever since I heard about the sub-prime crises in different parts of the world. One of those banks that was quite badly affected by bad Uk Mortgages was Northern Rock, who are now claiming that Mortgage Holders need not worry, it’s the shareholders who are in trouble. That’s an interesting take, and though I have no problems believing them, there’s no way that I would think of buying a house on a loan the way things are right now. Everything is just wrong for the purpose, the prices are high, rates are bothersome and there are those ‘flippers’ who buy property just to sell it a week or so later. It’s hard to get a home these days, and that’s bothering me.

Free Cultural Works

I was just reading the Definition of Free Cultural Works, and it turns out that only a couple of the CC licenses are Free in that sense. In any case, if you’re wondering what the licence for this blog is, and if you’ll be able to copy and do whatever you want, you needn’t worry: here’s the licence - Every original creative work that I have posted on this blog goes under CC-BY if I do not post/comment anywhere on this blog for one month, unless I’ve mentioned a different licence at a later date in a post or on a page (which isn’t dated). So be it then, you can take all the photographs of The Hindu making errors you want, and modify them any way you want, unless, of course, that makes it copyright of The Hindu. Man, that sucks.

Anyway, some friends of mine already use CC licences.

Easy Financing

A couple of my friends were planning on starting a small local business, but unfortunately, they can’t get going on it until they have enough money. Fortunately, Small Business Financing is available from unsecured financing experts who are willing to trust you with money even if you’re unable to provide collateral. Surprisingly, even with that, you get the added bonus of getting your money damn quick and through a simple and easy to follow process. You won’t have to worry about weeks of waiting while banks process your applications and decide to check your financial background, just get there, sign up and get your money.

The Mind-Machine Interface

It’s here! All that fancy talk that was in the realm of science fiction for so long, all those devices used in the MechWarrior series, they’re here. Well, not all of them, but definitely the coolest of the lot: a helmet that allows you to communicate your thoughts to a computer. Imagine, you’re just sitting there with your hands off the keyboard and the character swivels through 180°, sees a flash of gunfire, dies, and yells, “OMG WALLHAX NUB!” - all without you having actually touched the computer at all. That’s just awesome, especially if you can’t afford a microphone, that last bit will make it much easier to type out messages to your friends.

Imagine VR without having to wear all sorts of funny sensors placed under sticky pads on your skin, just a helmet with a visor and the freedom to trash your room while thinking you’re massacring unseen grues in an invisible room. This is the kind of thing that I would expect a degenerate to use.

Low Air Fares

I’ve been planning on going to Kashmir for a while now, and a friend wanted to come along so I decided to check the air fares to see if we could take a plane to Srinagar. Most airlines offer a cheaper fare if you book the tickets via the Internet, so I looked around for a site that would compare air tickets and give me options from which to choose. After a little while I realised that cheap flightsaren’t that hard to come by if you know where to look. A little searching got me this website on low fares , and on the front page I just typed in where I was and where I wanted to go to and a neat auto-complete box gave me the exact airport code. After I’d entered the dates at which I wanted the flight for, the site gave me a choice of merchants to compare, with the one most likely to be useful entered first.

They were right, after all, with their choice, because I found that I could get the two tickets required for at least 70 USD (around 2800 rupees) less than on any other merchant site on the web. If you’re planning on taking a flight and you think that you’re being charged a bit much, just check on this site, and accept their recommendations because they seem to do a good job of choosing the cheapest fares. The actual fares are from the airlines themselves, so you can choose which airline you want to fly by and the minimum price that airline allows. Definitely worth checking out.

Domain Registration

Everyone who’s someone has a domain these days, and no one refers to those things as vanity domains any more. The only problem, of course, is that domains are usually rather expensive (costing in the range of 10 USD a year) and if you’re not in a developed country this is even more of a problem. However there are ways to get a domain registration without having to worry about exorbitant pricing like trying out alternative domain registrars like the one linked here.

Pay Less Domains also have a neat Web Hosting package deal that lets you get your hosting and domain from the same company so that you can manage everything through one interface. The best part about deals like these is that you have just one person to go to when something goes wrong (which will probably be quite rarely because these people seem to have a pretty good reputation) and you won’t be pushed from one to another, with each disclaiming responsibility.

If your domain’s going to expire, you can also renew it at their site, or transfer it from your current registrar to Pay Less.

I got accepted into Smorty

Hurrah, finally, I have been accepted by the Smorty blog advertising network. It happened much faster than I expected to, and their offers aren’t too bad but they have a very short period in which you have to submit your post after choosing a review. This is a good thing, people sometimes just reserve reviews and then don’t ever release them. I’m pretty satisfied with the way the whole thing is set up and maybe I can get some money on a slow advertisement day. I’ve never been one to turn my nose up at money anyway, especially when the terms are as reasonable as Smorty’s.

The only trouble I’m currently facing is knowing just what the minimum word limit is. Some advertisers specify it in the job description, but others don’t, so I’m going through the rules again to see just what is the smallest amount that counts to being a post. With a good job opportunity, I can write a review that’s up to twice as long, and with something that doesn’t seem very good I can stick to just the bare minimum required. That would be nice.

Making money on the Internet

When we first started out, we hoped to get all the money we could by Adsense, but that’s horribly slow with only some 300 unique visitors a day. People just don’t like clicking on ads, and a large majority of those visiting also have ad-blocking software installed. I don’t understand why people do that to sites where the ads are unobtrusive like, say, Roshan George’s blog where they’re only far down the sidebar and fit perfectly into the look of the page. It’s not like they’re violently thrust in your face, and there’s no demand to actually click it.

Blocking ads means that it’s pretty sure you’ll never see an interesting advertisement on a site that you visit, meaning you may never actually help the site exist. No one’s calling for you to actually go out and click the advertisements, but surely just disabling your software for one or two sites which you patronise isn’t too much to ask for. You may just find something you like.
